The benefits of cardamom: regulates blood pressure
People with high blood pressure can benefit from consuming cardamom. According to a study published in the Indian Journal of Biochemistry and Biophysics, cardamom ( Elettaria cardamomum L ) lowers high blood pressure in people with primary hypertension. In addition to that, it increases fibrinolysis and improves antioxidant action.
It is not entirely clear why this spice could have these health effects. However, researchers suspect this is due to its mild diuretic effect, which stimulates the elimination of retained fluids from the body, which is a risk factor for hypertension.
